Benefits of the aperture system include; 1) Apertures can operate with various pin sizes and types, and 2) Apertures can provide openings with greater tolerances relative to pin sizes enabling ease of coupling drone with cargo.
Below are examples of patented features created by AudioCast LLC that include an aperture system attached to a drone (used in the demonstration video on Page 1), and a video of the aperture mechanism opening and closing via a remote signal. This example includes limit sensors to control aperture opening and closing.
Below are examples of aperture collection and retrieval pins, one attached to a typical shipping box, an the other as part of an audio collection device. In both cases enabling retrieval and redeployment.
