Piloted, Automated, or Autonomous Drone Cargo Management
Patented drone-cargo coupling system using an aperture/pin to attach cargo to a drone. The patented claims include optional sensors and camera features.
Some benefits of the aperture/pin system include; 1) Apertures can operate with various pin sizes and types, and 2) Apertures can provide openings with wide tolerances relative to pin sizes enabling ease of use for drone to cargo coupling.
The video below illustrates an exemplary prototype of the aperture/pin system strapped to a drone with auto land and take off feature button. The drone piloted over a cargo container with a pin, landing, attaching the cargo container to the drone via the aperture closing on the collection pin, auto take off, and then piloted away with the cargo securely attached to the drone.
